The language we all need to understand
Aggression, violence, destruction, bloodshed and brutality are what we hear, experience and feel with every sun rise and fall. Sometimes it sounds to me that we are living in the same Dark Age with no sense of civilization. The most disturbing fact is that we have become immune to this entire belligerence and considers it a normal part of our life and society. This turmoil reflects that the only language that is understood world over in this ego-centric and heartless era is of authority and supremacy. This situation could only be countered with language of love and peace.
“Even God never gets angry with the one who knows the art of consoling and calming the one who is infuriated....just clean your hearts...this is where it all end” by Bullah Shah a sufi poet is giving us a message of love. These sufi greats lived in sub-continent hundreds of years back spreading message of love and peace. They believed that we all need to love each other rather than fight and debate over Gods and religious concepts. “Tear down the mosque, tear down the temple. Tear down everything in sight But do not break any one’s heart Because God lives there” reflects the meaning and purpose of their language. The important concern they raised is that we think ourselves learned, pious and honest and just blame others to be deceitful and devious without appraising our own selves as Bullah Shah said “We have read so many books and achieved education claiming to be learned but never looked inside us. We keep on going in worship places without knowing what’s inside us. You fight with Satan needlessly as you have never struggled against your own will.” These are not only words rather symbols of calmness which we all need. Language is not only restricted to the words we speak and hear. Language in its true context is the feelings and connection between hearts without necessarily involving terms. We need to fight with this aggression with love as Waris Shah in Heer also reflects this “The beautiful garden springs in heart of those who accept and understands love.” We have to stop flowing blood and killing each other on the name of religion, terrorism and abhorrence. We just claim that our perception is right and gets involved in violence against each other shouting that we are fighting for truth. What is truth? I do not know and for once if you judge your own self may be you also do not have answer to this question. But there is one thing which I know and that is if we all can communicate with each other hatred and violence then for sure we can also communicate love and peace. The language of love is the only medium that provides me self-contentment and may be to you also if you try to understand it as self-calmness is what we need the most.
